Prabal Gurung is a Nepalese-American fashion designer born in 1979 in Singapore based in New York City.
In 1999 Gurung shifted to New York City from New Delhi where he attended Parsons School of Design and studied under an internship with Donna Karan.
He launched his collection PRABAL GURUNG during Fashion Week in February 2009 with the FLAG Art Collection. Prabal Gurung launched his eponymous collection in February 2009 with a philosophy Encompassing modern richness, enduring style, and a brilliant sense of glamour.
He was awarded the CFDA Swarovski Award for Womenswear (2011)and after that he also won the Drawing Award from the Creativity Center (2015). Prabal Gurung chooses production in New York city to Support standards of quality while guarding the local society.
The brand acknowledges the importance of domestic manufacturing, basically concerning the nature of the finished product, and helps to bring this recognition to a worldwide audience.
